Since beginning the Sounds from the City Earth Underground segment of the Urban Artist Group (maga)zine, we here at the northeastern HQ have decided, being that the overall response to the articles and other webzine features has been so great, to start accepting Submissions year-round. Basically, that means that all of you bands and singer/songwriters out there can send in press packages containing demos, EP's and/or full-length albums (preferably CD format) and short bio's whenever you are compelled to do so. There really aren't any limitations or rules, as we do not like either one of those concepts, but there are suggestions...the first of which being: the more information you provide in your bio's, the better the article will be, obviously...(in other words, it will represent you as a band or singer/songwriter much better than if it were piece of scrap paper with two vague sentences saying your name, how old you are, and where you're from, etc). And second, the more music you send in the press package, the more detailed the review of it is going to be, and the more descriptive and honest I can be about what I've heard. If you are accepted to be featured, you will receive a congratulatory piece of mail telling you just that. Shortly after, you will receive a list of about ten or so Interview Questions, which you will be expected to answer thoroughly and send back so that the Interview material can then be incorporated into the prepared article. In all honesty, it is a fairly simple process. But it does take equal participation from both parties---the Urban Artist Group and the artists with whom we work.

There is also space available throughout the website/webzine for those involved in the visual arts to display their work, just as the work you've no doubt seen by Justin Duerr and Richard Olmsted exhibited throughout the pages of this site. After all, the visual arts and music can easily co-exist, as they are siblings of the art family, both products of the Muses (the Mothers of inspiration and artistic creation), and this site can house both of them, though probably with the scales tipped heavily to one side, while the other is up high and offers a smaller amount. Essentially this is a music segment, where we have also decided to include contributed pieces of the visual arts. So artists, feel free to send in your work...that is, if you're so inclined.

At this point in the rag's development, we do not expect our readers to have to pay us for the right to navigate around our pages, to read our articles, examine the visual pieces, etc. We are a non-profit Collective, and we would very much like to keep it that way. Now, we will advertise for free for those groups and independent businesses of the City Earth Underground that we believe in, and in whose work we find something important, meaningful and worthwhile. Etc. So...if you have an indie record label, a zine of your own, a screenprinting and sticker business, a film-making group, etc, and you would like more exposure, go ahead and send in some samples and information on whatever it is you do, and we will definitely consider it as something to plug on the site.

Thank you to the artists and bands and singer/songwriters with whom we have worked so far, as well as all the artists and bands and singer/songwriters with whom we have yet to work.
